I put together a very simple routine to this song back in June but I loved the song and wanted to do a little more for it. I taught this routine to several different classes but none of the classes wanted video taken, which I completely understand. I didn’t want to forget it, so I just filmed myself. I much prefer watching classes perform routines all together because it looks so awesome, so I’ll see if I can get some brave students to volunteer! I’m still noticing I have default moves I go to, which I’ll claim is due to having a list of moves to work from, but I know I can go outside the box more. There is definitely always improvement to be made, no matter what you’re doing.
Pole for a Purpose is a great event that raises money for a different charity each year, though it’s always a charity that helps women who have been victims of domestic violence. I performed in it last year and I LOVED the experience, so I’m thankful I was able to be a part of it again this year. We did the same routine we performed at the International Pole Convention in June: the only real difference was this time we had stage poles instead of a truss system. It got a little scary at times – check out the base of the pole I’m on at 1:55 – but it was another great experience and I had a blast! I love this routine and enjoyed performing it again.
